In transit..

So here we are in transit at Dubai. I am terribly exhausted and want to lay my head on a soft pillowand drift off to sleep. At the moment, it is impossible. Being surrounded by hyper active kids(mine and others) does not make it any better.
The flight has been good. The kids were engrossed with the flight entertainment and myself, I took delight in the changing landscape below. Snow capped mountains of Slovakia to dull fields and meadows waiting for that burst of spring, coastlines of Romania to the deserts of the Middle East. A bottle of white wine kept me company.

Getting ready..

The bags are almost packed with light, colourful clothing. They still have that whiff of summer scent of eight months ago, when they were all washed and dried in the warm sun. This trip back home is gonna be different. It's strange how I have begun calling Ahmedabad my home. That's not where it is, my heart is still elsewhere. Yet, I have this excitement, of heading into the unknown....I do not know, what is in store for us. Only, time will tell.

The birth of Heat and Dust

The past few months I have been asked a zillion times as to what would happen to my blogging adventures. Would they end with our return to India.? I knew they wouldn't, cause our adventures were to continue and get even better(or that's how I keep consoling myself). While With love from Lohr is my baby and will continue to be, I was in a constant dilemma as to what to do. I didn't want to merge the two.
A month ago,I was given a book "Heat and Dust" by my very dear friend H who is German. A book on India written from the perspective of two women(young and old), I am yet to even begin reading it.
And so it was during one of my sleepless nights that it struck me, Yes!!, that's what I am gonna name this blog, HEAT and DUST. Cause, honestly, this is what I am warned of our impending move to Ahmedabad. Be prepared, you are in for a lot of Heat and Dust!!!
